The building incorporates the different libraries of the UPC’s university schools.

The special location of the building, right on the boundary between the city and the university campus, is one of the aspects in which the project has been most sensitive. Its image as a gateway on the one hand, and as an urban piece capable of provoking activity and relationships on the other, have been basic premises when developing the project.

A newly created street will become, as it passes through the interior of the building, a vestibule that generates encounters and circulations, and will be the element that determines the segregation between server areas and served areas.
